Dive Lights are of particular importance at iDive, and for one major reason: We dive with our customers! In the early days of iDive, the owner (myself) was leading boat full of Advanced Students, who all purchased a primary and backup light on my recommendation for the night dives. These were known "good brands".
After the first dive, several of them experienced issues with their lights. From sporadic flickering to complete flooding. Not only did this ruin the trip for some of the students, it was one of the most embarrassing (and costly) things I've ever experienced.
For that reason, I did a lot of research and spoke with several other shop owners and instructors and narrowed down the list. We no longer sell trouble lights in our store (including this online store). If we do find a light to be a particular regular for return, we stop selling it. So after many years and many night dives, cavern dives, and even after-dark beach walks later, we've found the best dive lights at each price point available.
